ReactionRyan Gravenberch on Union SG win, first Liverpool goal and Anfield ovation
Ryan Gravenberch detailed his determination to repay the support given to him by Liverpool fans after he scored his first goal for the club.
The midfielder opened the scoring in Thursday night's 2-0 win over Union SG at Anfield in the Europa League, converting from close range right on the stroke of half-time.
The summer arrival from Bayern Munich was given a standing ovation when he was withdrawn in the 79th minute of the Group E contest, before Diogo Jota then made sure of the victory in stoppage time.
After the game, Gravenberch spoke to TNT Sports to offer his reaction to the result and opening his account for the club. Read on for the interview...
On scoring his first goal for Liverpool...
Yeah, it's great, it feels super-good. It was the easiest goal of my career so far! It doesn't matter – a goal is a goal.
On what's changed for him since joining the club...
I think the minutes, just the minutes. When you give a player minutes, you get confidence and I think that's it.
On fitting in to the squad...
They are [a] really nice, really good group, also [with] young players. I'm just enjoying it.
On playing with the fellow midfielders recruited this summer...
I like it, I like it. I think Liverpool did a great job to buy such good players. We are in such a good mood and we're just playing.
On what receiving a standing ovation meant to him...
A lot, a lot. I was very happy that they give me such a good feeling and I want to give them something back.
