AcademyLiverpool's Premier League International Cup opponents confirmed
Liverpool U21s are set to face Athletic Club, SL Benfica, Feyenoord and AS Monaco in the group stage of this season's Premier League International Cup.
Barry Lewtas’ team have been drawn in Group C and will play all four of their matches during the tournament’s opening phase at the Kirkby Academy.
- v Monaco – Wednesday September 27 – 7pm kick-off
- v Benfica – Sunday October 22 – 2pm kick-off
- v Feyenoord – Wednesday December 6 – 7pm kick-off
- v Athletic Club – TBC
All kick-off times are UK. Fixtures are subject to change.
In the competition’s first round, three groups of eight teams each feature four clubs from Premier League 2 and four invited sides from across Europe.
The top two finishers in each section, and the two best third-placed teams, will progress to the quarter-finals.
Group A: Blackburn Rovers, Leeds United, Nottingham Forest, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sparta Prague, Hertha BSC, Nice, PSV Eindhoven.
Group B: Brighton & Hove Albion, Chelsea, Southampton, West Ham United, Celtic, Dinamo Zagreb, Olympique Lyonnais, Valencia.
Group C: Crystal Palace, Everton, Fulham, Liverpool, Monaco, Athletic Club, Feyenoord, Benfica.
