Julia Bartel, midfielder - Liverpool FC
Julia Bartel joined Liverpool FC Women in January 2025 on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old midfielder made the switch to the Reds from fellow Barclays Women's Super League side Chelsea.
Bartel began her youth career with Espanyol, before heading to Barcelona in 2019, where she enjoyed domestic and cup success, primarily representing the B team.
In 2023-24, she helped Barcelona B secure the Spanish Second Division title – their second in a row – scoring two goals in their final league game of the campaign. Bartel made several appearances at senior level also, including in Liga F and the Women's Champions League.
On the international stage, she has represented Spain at a range of youth levels up to the U23s.
Bartel played a key role and featured in every match for Spain's U20s when they lifted the World Cup in 2022, earning a spot in the team of the tournament in the process.
She also won the U19 European Championship with her country in the same year, netting the winner in the final, again featuring in each game throughout the tournament, and helped clinch the same competition in 2023.
