Austria international Marie Höbinger completed a move to Liverpool FC Women in July 2023 and signed a new contract with the club in January 2025.

Höbinger joined from FC Zurich Frauen, where she won two league titles and a Swiss Women's Cup during an 18-month spell – while also picking up Champions League experience.

Before moving to Switzerland, she took her first steps into the professional game in Germany with 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam, where she graduated from the academy ranks.

Höbinger, who can play in midfield or further forward, was handed her first call-up for her country in late 2019 and represented Austria at UEFA Women's Euro 2022.

After putting pen to paper on fresh terms with the Reds around 18 months after joining, she said: "I'm so, so happy. I think it's always an honour to play for Liverpool and I've enjoyed my time so, so much.

"I think I've also become much more confident and comfortable in that environment. I think it's a good place to be and to extend here.

"Wherever I am, I want to be the happiest and the best of myself, and I think the Liverpool environment makes it really easy. The football club, the city and all the people that I work with every day just give me the chance to get better every day, and I think that's exactly what I want."

She had a fantastic debut season on Merseyside as the Reds secured a top-four finish in the Barclays Women's Super League.

The No.14 netted five goals and became the first player in WSL history to get a hat-trick of assists, all from corners, during the dramatic 4-3 win over Chelsea at Prenton Park.
