Reaction'We showed our mentality again' - Alexis Mac Allister on Brighton comeback
The Reds kept their tilt at the Premier League title on course at Anfield on Sunday despite falling a goal down when Danny Welbeck struck inside two minutes.
Luis Diaz’s instinctive finish equalised before the break and Mohamed Salah then converted from Mac Allister’s assist in the second half to secure a vital win.
Post-match, Mac Allister spoke to Sky Sports – read his reaction below…
On how hard Liverpool had to work for the win…
We didn’t start as we wanted but it was an amazing game, we played against an unbelievable team. I know them very well, I know what they can do. It was a tough match but at the end we won it, so we are very happy.
On not panicking after conceding within two minutes of kick-off…
I would rather not concede so early! But the mentality of the boys is amazing, that’s what you need when you are 1-0 down. Today we showed it again. But, as I said, next time we have to try to start winning and not losing.
On the relief felt when Salah put the Reds in front in the second half…
Yeah, he has been asking for some passes and assists from me during the week! In the first half we tried to be connected, I played a few passes to him. Second half he scored; that’s the mentality he showed because in the first half he missed a couple but then in the second half he showed his quality.
On the clash between fellow title contenders Manchester City and Arsenal…
If I get home in time I will watch it, of course, because I like to watch football and I think this is a great football match. I will watch it, enjoy it and then the result is not the most important thing.
