Interview'We are going for three points' - Sophie Roman Haug previews LFC Women's visit to West Ham
The Reds began the new Barclays Women's Super League campaign with a point as Roman Haug scored with a towering header at St Helens Stadium last weekend.
That was the 10th goal the Norwegian has been involved with in her last 16 league appearances for the club (seven goals, three assists).
Leicester equalised early in the second half, though, meaning Matt Beard's side travel to take on the Hammers seeking a first win of the 2024-25 campaign.
Ahead of the 3pm BST kick-off at Chigwell Construction Stadium, Roman Haug sat down with Liverpoolfc.com at the AXA Melwood Training Centre.

On the 1-1 draw with Leicester…
It was a tough game and we knew it would be but there are a lot of positives to take and a lot of things to keep building on. In the end we got a point so we keep moving.
On scoring on matchday one of the WSL season and her aerial prowess…
It's nice to get a good start and get the goals coming that early on, so hopefully there's more to come. I always want to get on the end of crosses and however I can help the team I will do. Hopefully I can get a lot of goals and assists again this year.
On how much she enjoyed playing at St Helens Stadium…
It was amazing. Our new stadium is really nice and our fans are unbelievable so we are really happy to be at our new home and we look forward to many games there.
On the early signs of promise in her partnership with new signing Olivia Smith and competition for places in attack…
Olivia is a great player, she is really good on the ball, physical, so I think she will be really good in the team. We have got a lot of great players this year. It's great that we have this competition and we are also quite different kind of players so it's good that we can change the game if we need to.
On this being her second season with the Reds...
I really enjoy Liverpool. I love the club, the girls, the team, the staff, everything around it. We have great facilities here at the AXA Melwood Training Centre and I'm really enjoying my time.
It was a good last season for me and I'm hoping to continue taking the steps this year and helping the team out, so hopefully it can be a good season for us. This is a great group of players and we are really progressing as a team.
On the trip to West Ham...
West Ham away is always tough but we had some great results away from home last season. They had a tough opening game so we expect them to come at us with all they have but we are ready, we are looking forward to it and we have had a good week on the training pitch so we are going for the three points.
