Wataru Endo captained Japan to a 4-1 international friendly victory over Germany on Saturday evening.
The Liverpool midfielder started and finished the match in Wolfsburg, which was won by goals from Junya Ito, Ayase Ueda, Takuma Asano and Ao Tanaka.
Japan are next in action on Tuesday, when they will take on Turkey in a friendly in Genk, Belgium.
