AcademyU18s match report: Onanuga and Sonni-Lambie goals give Liverpool comeback win at Wolves
The young Reds were a goal down at the break in the U18 Premier League North contest after Mateus Mane's opener in the 30th minute.
But their response in the second half was brilliant and they were back level on the hour mark when Rio Ngumoha set up Afolami Onanuga.
A poacher's finish from Josh Sonni-Lambie seven minutes later then saw the visitors snatch the lead, which was preserved by several Bailey Hall saves towards the end.
Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com post-match, U18s manager Marc Bridge-Wilkinson said: "I thought the lads showed a lot of character today.
"Wolves were probably the better side in the first half. At half-time we solved a couple of the little problems as a group and then from that point on I thought we were really good value for the win.
"It would have been really easy going a goal down and with the confidence we perhaps don't have at the minute to have allowed that to get us.
"But we showed a lot of character, a lot of belief, stuck at the task at hand and then I think in the second half we were well worthy of the 2-1 win."
