Reaction'So happy to help the team' - Luis Diaz on double against Man Utd
Luis Diaz expressed his delight with making a decisive contribution to Liverpool’s 3-0 win against Manchester United on Sunday.
The Colombia international set the Reds on their way to a comprehensive Premier League result at Old Trafford with a brace before half-time.
First, Diaz met Mohamed Salah’s lofted cross with a well-taken back-post header, then – set up by the same teammate – swept in a clinical low finish for his third strike of 2024-25.
“I’m very happy to score goals to help the team,” Diaz told Sky Sports, in an interview translated by Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
“The most important thing is that the team is doing so well, winning games and winning this important game. I’m looking forward to the rest.
“I’m so happy to perform so well, I want to keep this rhythm and help the team all the time.”

Salah added gloss to the scoreline in the second half for the Reds, who have now won each of their opening three Premier League matches under Arne Slot.
Diaz, who was previously on target in the defeat of Brentford at Anfield, is determined to keep being a pivotal influence in the team.
“It’s what strikers have to do: score goals, give assists,” the No.7 added. “I’m going to keep working in a humble way, working hard to keep helping the team and to achieve our goals.”
