Sepp van den Berg has completed a permanent transfer to Brentford.

The defender departs Liverpool a little over five years after joining the Reds from PEC Zwolle in his home country, the Netherlands.

Van den Berg made four senior appearances for the club, all of which came during his debut 2019-20 campaign under Jürgen Klopp, while he was also part of the squad that claimed the FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar that December.

He went on to have loan spells with Preston North End (twice), Schalke 04 and, most recently, FSV Mainz 05.

After featuring during pre-season under head coach Arne Slot at Liverpool this summer, Van den Berg has now sealed a permanent switch to fellow Premier League side Brentford, following Fabio Carvalho in joining the Bees from the Reds.

Everyone at LFC thanks Sepp for his contributions at the club and wishes him the best of luck in his future career.
