AnfieldRail seating to be installed in remainder of the Kop

Following a successful rail seating trial last season, the club began a phased installation programme throughout the Kop, with the final stages set to be completed this summer.

The work will see rail seating installed in all remaining areas of the Kop and will begin during the close-season. It is expected to continue throughout the first home games of the 2024-25 campaign.

Please note that access to seats will not be affected during this time and supporters whose seat will be changed to rail seating will be contacted directly.

After LFC was granted a Safe Standing Licence at the start of this season, all areas with rail seating have seen the introduction of safe standing areas, allowing supporters to stand throughout matches if they wish.

LFC reviewed the effectiveness of rail seating in relation to fans’ safety during last season’s trial, and subsequently was successful in applying for the Safe Standing Licence.

Rail seating was first introduced in two areas of Anfield during the 2020-21 close-season following a safety review by the Sports Grounds Safety Authority.

The initial trial saw 7,800 rail seats installed on the Kop and the lower tier of the Anfield Road Stand. A second phase saw a further 2,500 rail seats introduced on the Kop during the 2022-23 season.

The latest installation phase took place last summer when a further 3,000 rail seats were placed on the Kop in the remainder of blocks 202-208, down to row 33.

The final phase in the Kop will see rail seating installed in all remaining rows for next season.
