Club newsPhotos: 300-tonne roof truss lifted into place in Anfield Road expansion
New photos show the significant progress made on Liverpool FC’s Anfield Road expansion project, with the 300-tonne roof truss having been carefully lifted into place.
Our gallery shows the process of preparing and lifting by 30 skilled engineers using two 600-tonne crawler cranes to take the heavy lifting. The truss took around 12 hours to install during record-breaking temperatures.
Preparatory work started in May by building the two steel towers. Last weekend, the two 60ft haunches were lifted into place ready to sit either side of the truss. More information on the latest stage of the Anfield Road expansion is available here.
