Out nowPep Lijnders launches new book 'Intensity' at special Anfield event
Liverpool assistant manager Pepijn Lijnders launched his new book 'Intensity' at a special event held at Anfield's club store.
A small number of Reds supporters, along with competition winners, were invited to attend the launch on the eve of the book’s highly-anticipated official release.
Fans were present for an in-depth Q&A – hosted by The Anfield Wrap’s John Gibbons – ahead of a book signing and meet and greet with Lijnders himself.
“The tricky thing is that we didn’t know how it would end,” the Dutchman told supporters.
“You guys read it and you know how it ends, so OK, we won the League Cup, won the FA Cup [and] played the maximum games in the season possible. To play all these games with the fans together, they will forever live with us.
“I wrote every day about everything. Hopefully it ended up being a nice thing for the fans.”
He later added: “[The book] is the best thing I ever did in my life from a coaching point of view.”
Written alongside LFC’s head of editorial, James Carroll, Lijnders’ debut book gives supporters expert first-hand insight into everything from training to tactics and team-talks.
Intensity is the definitive inside story of how an incredible 2021-22 campaign developed for the Reds, from the plans being put in place during pre-season training to the unprecedented drive for all four major honours.
Plus, fans will learn all about the unique leadership and motivational skills of boss Jürgen Klopp, straight from one of his right-hand men.
