NewsMia Enderby wins LFC Women Player of the Month award for the first time

The 19-year-old collected the prize for the first time in her Reds career, which began in July 2023, at the AXA Melwood Training Centre.

Enderby appeared in all three of the team's matches in December, with her highlight scoring two goals in the 4-0 win over Everton in the Women's League Cup.

She told Liverpoolfc.com upon receiving the award: "Thank you. This honestly means a lot to me and I'm really honoured to get this trophy.

"It has been a hard season for me but I'm just trying to push on and hopefully I can get some more trophies.

"This is a big club and being able to start games in the WSL is really important to me and I want to push on and try to get more starts.

"With this being voted for by the fans makes it special. The support from the fans is really important for us and they get us through games and I just want to thank them for voting for me."

The news was broken to Enderby during a team meeting as manager Matt Beard revealed the winner to the entire squad, leading to a rapturous round of applause and cheers.

"I wasn't expecting this, to be honest, and I wouldn't have picked up the trophy without them," she said.

Enderby stepped off the bench in the second half to produce her brace against Everton and help Liverpool get off and running at new home St Helens Stadium.

"That night I was filled with confidence and I was glad to get the two goals," Enderby reflected. "But again, I wouldn't have done it without the girls.

"It was an important win for us and great to get that first win at St Helens Stadium. Hopefully we can get many more."
