NewsLoan watch: Eight Liverpool players feature as Luca Stephenson saluted
Eight of Liverpool’s on-loan players were involved for their teams over the weekend – with victories secured by four of them.
In La Liga, Stefan Bajcetic played the whole game for Las Palmas as they recovered from a half-time deficit to win 3-1 away at Getafe.
There was a success for Luca Stephenson in Scotland too. He started and played 85 minutes of Dundee United’s 1-0 defeat of St. Johnstone.
An injury means that will be Stephenson’s final appearance for the club this season, according to manager Jim Goodwin, who said: “He’s been one of our standout players and most consistent performers week to week. He can play a number of positions and will never let you down.
“I am disappointed to lose Luca but also grateful for what he has given the jersey. He’s a pleasure to work with and Liverpool are very lucky to have him.”
Also in the Scottish Premiership, Calvin Ramsay came off the bench late in the second half as Kilmarnock were beaten 5-1 on the road at Celtic.
James Norris aided three points as well, featuring throughout a 1-0 victory for Shelbourne over Bohemians in the Irish Premier Division.
In England’s Championship, Lewis Koumas was introduced after the break for Stoke City as they went on to win 1-0 away at Cardiff City, and Nathaniel Phillips played 90 minutes as Derby County drew 2-2 with Portsmouth.
In League Two, Rhys Williams was involved for the first half of Morecambe’s 2-0 home defeat by Carlisle United.
Goalkeeper Jakub Ojrzynski completed the match for Utsiktens BK as they lost 2-1 against Landskrona in Sweden’s second tier.
