Review ShowLiverpool 4-2 Tottenham: Analysis of top-class Trent and outstanding Elliott
Neil Mellor highlighted the influential displays of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Harvey Elliott in Liverpool's 4-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.
During his regular post-match Review Show, which is now available to watch on LFCTV GO, the former Red analysed an excellent all-round performance.
“It was nice to get back to winning ways in what was Jürgen Klopp’s penultimate home game,” Mellor said.
“Harvey got an assist and then scored with an absolutely magnificent strike. No goalkeeper in the Premier League would save that.
“I think he has been brilliant all season. He’s not started as many games as he probably would have liked to, but contribution-wise, [he’s been] absolutely outstanding.
“He got a deserved round of applause when he came off.”
Mellor also discussed Alexander-Arnold's input both defensively and offensively, saying: “Trent is and was absolute class.
“He just breaks the lines and sees the passes. The effort which just cleared the bar would have been a Goal of the Season contender.
“A top performance, both attacking- and defensive-wise.”
