NewsLFC Women injury update: Fahey, Matthews and Van de Sanden
Matt Beard has provided an update on the Liverpool FC Women squad ahead of Saturday’s trip to Bristol City.
The Reds will be without Shanice van de Sanden due to injury for the lunchtime kick-off at Ashton Gate in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
The game also comes too soon for Niamh Fahey – as a result of a tight calf – and Jasmine Matthews, with the defensive duo aiming to be back in team training next week.
Beard said at his pre-match press conference: “Jas and Niamh will be back in team training next week. Shanice isn’t available. Apart from that, everyone else is.”
The manager added: “[The international break] has allowed another couple more weeks of training into Taylor Hinds.
“We’ve got Jas and Niamh that will be back in team training probably next week. So, that time has enabled us to get the players that were injured back in and around the squad and being available for selection.”
