NewsInternationals: Mohamed Salah and Harvey Elliott score as eight Reds feature
Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Harvey Elliott were on the scoresheet during the latest round of international action.
Salah opened the scoring in Egypt's 2-0 victory over Ethiopia in a World Cup qualifier after 31 minutes with a close-range finish, and also assisted his nation's second of the contest.
Elliott, meanwhile, netted what proved to be a consolation goal as England U21s were beaten 5-3 by France.
Elsewhere on Friday night, Curtis Jones earned his third cap for England's senior team by starting their 2-0 win against Albania to begin qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
Jones played 74 minutes of the contest at Wembley, with Reds teammate Jarell Quansah not part of Thomas Tuchel's matchday squad.
Stefan Bajcetic, who is currently out on loan at Las Palmas, was introduced at the start of the second half in Spain U21s' 2-2 friendly with Czechia.
And James McConnell and Trey Nyoni came off the bench in the England Elite League Squad's 1-1 draw versus Portugal.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, Darwin Nunez and Alexis Mac Allister faced off in the South American section of World Cup qualifying.
Nunez featured for 72 minutes for his nation, while Mac Allister saw 79 minutes of action, with Argentina narrowly defeating Uruguay 1-0.
