NewsGemma Bonner breaks LFC Women appearance record
Gemma Bonner has tonight set a new appearance record for Liverpool FC Women in the Barclays Women’s Super League era with her 135th game.
By starting the Continental League Cup tie with Manchester City Women at Prenton Park, the defender moved clear of Ashley Hodson to top the list outright.
Bonner is now in her second spell with the club, having rejoined in January 2023, and has featured regularly under Matt Beard since returning.
She had previously skippered Liverpool to back-to-back WSL titles in 2013 and 2014, with her first stint at the Reds covering six years and including 115 matches of her new record appearance tally.
