NewsEuro 2024: Konate's France begin group stage with win over Austria
Ibrahima Konate's France kicked off their Euro 2024 campaign with a 1-0 win over Austria on Monday night.
The Liverpool defender was an unused substitute for his country, who claimed three points in their opening game of Group D.
In an entertaining contest played in Dusseldorf, Les Bleus took the victory courtesy of a 38th-minute own goal by Maximilian Wober.
France continue the group stage by facing the Netherlands in Leipzig on Friday night (8pm BST kick-off).
