AcademyCalvin Ramsay scores in Liverpool U21s' win at West Ham
Liverpool U21s registered a 3-0 victory away at West Ham United on Saturday afternoon.
Goals from Jake Cain, Melkamu Frauendorf and Calvin Ramsay gave the young Reds the three points in the Premier League 2 encounter at Rush Green Training Ground.
After important saves from goalkeeper Harvey Davies, Cain opened the scoring midway through the first half before Frauendorf doubled the visitors' lead in the 36th minute.
Ramsay, who played the opening hour of the contest, then wrapped up the win with a strike shortly after half-time.
Speaking post-match, U21s head coach Barry Lewtas told Liverpoolfc.com: "It was probably our best performance of the season, if I'm going to be honest.
"The lads were superb technically, superb tactically. What we wanted to do, we were really good at it.
"But the lads' energy, work-rate was just phenomenal all the way through, even near the end when we were 3-0 up. I'm unbelievably happy."
Liverpool U21s: Davies, Ramsay (Miles, 61), Quansah, Jonas, Chambers, Bajcetic (Koumas, 61), Stephenson, Corness (McConnell, 56), Cain, Frauendorf (Spearing, 85), Clark.
Unused substitute: Hughes.
