NewsAmber Whiteley column: 'We'll put absolutely everything in to reach Wembley'
In her latest column, interim head coach Amber Whiteley looks forward to a big day for Liverpool FC Women when they travel to Chelsea on Saturday in the Adobe Women's FA Cup semi-finals.
It's a proud weekend for the club as we play in an FA Cup semi-final and we are all really looking forward to it. We hope our fans are too!
The FA Cup is one of the biggest competitions in the women's game and it is steeped in history. It is the first time we have reached this stage in eight years and we want to go one step further.
We know how much quality Chelsea have throughout their squad and we respect them. But we have the belief that we can cause any team problems – we proved that with the win at Arsenal in the quarter-finals.
Of course, we have to be mindful of the threats that Chelsea possess but we are aware of where we can hurt them too. Preparation is important this week and we will go into the game with belief we can progress to the final.
We know we will need to be organised and disciplined defensively, and we will need to be at our best with the ball going forward.
In the quarter-final against Arsenal and the league fixture versus Manchester United, we showed our ability to control the game without most of the ball and be a threat on transition.

Watch on YouTubeThe prize doesn't come much bigger than the opportunity to play in an FA Cup final at Wembley, so we'll put absolutely everything into it on Saturday and give ourselves the best chance.
We have the opportunity to do something really special in this competition, and we have to go into the game prepared and with the confidence and belief that we can go all the way.
We will need to be clinical in terms of how we execute our game plan and we know that we will have to be at our best in both boxes to do that.
We've got players coming back from international duty this week, so hopefully everyone comes back to us fit and healthy.
I'm fortunate that I have a talented squad and good options to choose from. We will need a strong collective effort and our fans in full voice to help us get to that final.
Thank you for your continued support.
YNWA,
Amber
