News'Always in my heart' - a message from Alberto Moreno
The left-back departed the Reds for the Yellow Submarine in 2019 following a five-year spell at Anfield that included 141 appearances and three goals.
An ACL injury sustained earlier this year means Moreno is unable to feature in the semi-final between the clubs, but he made the journey to Anfield for the first leg, which Liverpool won 2-0.
He met with some of his former teammates and Jürgen Klopp on the night – as well as giving a shirt to Virgil van Dijk – and later posted a message to his old team on social media.
“Thanks, Anfield,” wrote Moreno. “Was very emotional to see you again. Always in my heart Liverpool FC. YNWA.”
