FeatureFive things we spotted at Liverpool's Thursday training session

Dinner date

While having dinner together has apparently already been agreed, Federico Chiesa and Mohamed Salah are yet to reach a consensus on who will be the chef.

With Salah in situ at the coffee bar, he says to Chiesa: “Whenever you want, we’ll go for dinner. I’ll cook for you.”

“No, I’ll cook for you,” comes the reply from the Italian.

“OK, so we’re going to eat pasta, then?”

“Yes!”

Sounds good, lads. Any chance of an invite?

‘Oh, he wears the No.20…’

Diogo Jota’s return to training after an injury lay-off is a welcome sight for anyone of a Liverpool persuasion – and that includes Andy Robertson.

As Jota entered the building, he was serenaded by his teammate, who managed a passable rendition of the Portuguese’s catchy song.

‘… he will take us to victory…’

Wizardry from Lucho

Luis Diaz’s mastery was on full display as the squad began the gym section of Thursday’s workout.

Effortless keepy-ups are no big deal for elite footballers, of course, but the No.7 wasn’t using a football – he was instead juggling a tennis ball.

Impressive stuff.

Wata pass

‘Great pass, great run!’

Arne Slot certainly enjoyed it, as did his teammates. Wataru Endo produced a moment of class to split the defence and tee up Harvey Elliott to score past Alisson Becker towards the end of the session.

See for yourself in the clip below.

Shot-stopper Szobo

Dominik Szoboszlai turned his hand to goalkeeping after the session had ended, facing up to a Trent Alexander-Arnold free-kick and Curtis Jones’ attempted chip.
