LFC International Academy Teams of the Month – February and March
We are delighted to announce the February and March winners of our LFC International Academy Teams of the Month competition.
Teams are nominated by staff at LFC academies across the globe to recognise their achievements, whether it’s been a success on the pitch or representing our club values off it. Nominations are then reviewed by LFC and the winners selected.
This month’s winners are teams from LFC IA Mauritius and LFC IA SoCal.
LFC IA Mauritius Head Coach Neil Murphy nominated 2006 Team A. The players on this island are very skilled so they have done great to keep playing their football and winning their matches in the right manner. They have also beaten the best team on the island twice.
This squad was also recently selected to represent Mauritius in the Youth Indian Ocean Games for the futsal discipline. This team will represent the island again when they will travel to Rodrigues in April for a small tour. Neil said of the achievement: “We are so proud of what this team has achieved for LFC IA Mauritius. Their hard work and dedication has really paid off"
Our winners from LFC IA SoCal were nominated by Darrin Richards who coaches the 2010 boys team. Coach Darrin Nominated his team for their performance during the SoCal State Cup.
Coach Darrin said “The B2010 White team played exemplary during the group stage of the SoCal State Cup. Being in a group of 5 teams made it a bit more challenging to advance. However, with Focus & Discipline, the team played together sharing and advancing the ball forward for multiple scoring opportunities.
“This teamwork attitude was refreshing to witness in such a short period of time. The boys realize they are playing for each other (as a team) and not for themselves individually. A new trust factor is renewed.
Fantastic achievements from our winners this month, well done to both the teams. Look out for the next set of winning teams here next month. Keep up the great work!
