LFC FoundationThe Black History Month Poster Competition is Back!
We are thrilled to announce that the Black History Month poster competition is back and this year it is bigger and better than ever!
Competition Brief
Black History Month is a national campaign which takes place every October. It aims to encourage everyone to share, celebrate and understand the impact of black heritage and culture.
We want to invite all Merseyside primary schools to design an A4 poster which represents this year’s theme: Unsung Heroes.
This theme is about celebrating the exceptional achievements of black heroes, especially those who may have been forgotten. We hope it serves as an opportunity for the students to learn about the contributions and achievements of black people from various fields; literature, music, science, politics, and social care to campaigners, nurses, and the everyday heroes who help to make a positive difference.
The winning design for each area will be chosen by a selected panel of judges.
Competition Prize
This year, Merseyside Police have extended the competition and teamed up with our three local football teams, Liverpool, Everton and Tranmere Rovers to offer an incredible football experience day.
Each winning class will win a one-day trip to both Goodison and Anfield football stadiums where the students will take part in a range of interactive panels, workshops, and football training sessions!
The winning design for each area will also be displayed at the International Slavery Museum in Liverpool City Centre as part of their Black History Month celebrations.
