Liverpool FC has officially been named the most-watched club in the Premier League across the world last season, breaking audience records along the way.

Recently released independent data from Nielsen revealed that during the 2023-24 season the Reds were the most-watched Premier League club globally, with a cumulative audience of 471 million for all 38 league games.

The annual results show the Premier League season-on-season audience has grown by seven per cent, with the biggest growth of international markets in China (+373 per cent) and the USA (+42 per cent), including what was at the time a record live audience in America of 2.28 million for Liverpool’s game against Arsenal in December 2023.

Nielsen is the global leader in audience insights, data and analytics to help shape the future of media with accurate measurement of what people listen to and watch.

The Reds’ pre-season tour in the USA this summer also saw record-breaking crowds watching them in action. Against Arsenal they played in front of 69,879 supporters at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, a record crowd for football in that stadium. When Liverpool then faced Manchester United in South Carolina, it was in front of 77,559 fans at Williams-Brice Stadium – the largest crowd to ever watch football in North or South Carolina.

This follows news that LFC was also the most-engaged club in the Premier League, registering more than 1.5 billion fan engagements, and also the most-viewed on social with 11.9 billion.

The Reds also reached 10 million subscribers on YouTube – officially the first Premier League club to reach this milestone – joining an elite group of YouTube creators with a Diamond Play Button.
