MatchWSL stat pack: Eight facts to know ahead of Liverpool v Bristol City

The Reds host the Robins in a 2pm GMT kick-off at Prenton Park on Sunday as the league season resumes following an international break.

Liverpool have lost just one of their last seven WSL meetings with Bristol City (won four, drawn two), with this the first match between the sides since January 2020 and a 1-0 away win for the Reds.

Matt Beard’s side have won eight of their last 11 WSL home matches, while only Chelsea (15) have picked up more home points than the Reds (nine) so far this term.

Sophie Roman Haug has been involved in four of Liverpool’s last six goals in the division, scoring two and assisting two.

Only Katie Zelem has created more chances both overall (25) and from set-pieces (17) in the WSL this season than Liverpool’s Marie Höbinger (22 and 14 respectively).

The Reds have scored in all but one of their WSL games so far in 2023-24, the exception being the 1-0 Anfield defeat by Everton in October.

Away from home, Bristol City have just one win in their last 15 in the WSL (drawn six, lost eight), although they are unbeaten in their last two (won one, drawn one).

At home, Liverpool are unbeaten in six league meetings with Bristol City (won five, drawn one) since a 4-1 loss in April 2012.

Gemma Bonner’s three WSL goals versus Bristol City are her joint-most against an opponent (also three against Everton).
