Read a statistical preview ahead of Liverpool’s Barclays Women’s Super League trip to face Arsenal on Saturday evening.

The Reds make the visit south to the capital and Emirates Stadium in a 5.30pm GMT kick-off – check out the key facts and figures provided by Opta about the encounter below…

Liverpool won 1-0 in this fixture last season and will be aiming to win back-to-back away games in the WSL against Arsenal for the second time, also doing so in July 2015/July 2016.

Arsenal v Chelsea is the only fixture that has been played more times (29) and seen more total goals scored (87) in WSL history than Arsenal v Liverpool (84 goals in 24 meetings).

The Gunners have lost just one of their last 11 WSL games at Emirates Stadium (won eight, drawn two), winning each of their last three at the venue by an aggregate score of 14-0.

However, the Reds are unbeaten on their three away trips to London in the WSL this season (won two, drawn one), winning their last two, which is as many wins as they managed across their previous 19 visits to the capital in the top flight.

Liverpool have won four of their six WSL games so far in 2025 and, excluding the Spring Series, only in 2013 when they won the WSL title have the Reds ever had a better start to a calendar year in the top flight after six matches (15 points – won five, lost one).

Amber Whiteley has won both of her first two WSL games in charge of Liverpool, with only Rehanne Skinner ever winning each of their first three matches with a team in the competition after being appointed in mid-season (with Tottenham Hotspur in 2021-22).

Liverpool’s Olivia Smith leads the WSL this season for shots following a ball carry of five-plus metres (17), while no player has scored more goals following such a carry than the Canadian (three).

Arsenal have won 18 of their 24 WSL meetings with Liverpool (drawn two, lost four), with the Gunners themselves the only team in WSL history to hold more wins over a single opponent (19 v Everton).
