Lucy Parry spoke of her delight after signing a new contract with Liverpool FC Women.

The 20-year-old, who joined the Reds at the age of seven, has put pen to paper on fresh terms to commit her future ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

Parry also has a new squad number for the upcoming season, inheriting the No.2 jersey from Emma Koivisto, who left the club over the summer.

A lifelong Liverpool supporter, the full-back is excited to continue her journey with the club she loves after enjoying a breakout campaign in 2023-24 by making 16 appearances after stepping in to the senior squad on a consistent basis.

See Liverpoolfc.com's interview with Parry at the AXA Melwood Training Centre below.

On signing a new deal…

I'm delighted. I'm just really excited to keep pushing. This is where I want to be and I'm happy so I think this is the best place for me to do it.

On her journey with LFC Women so far…

I've been here since I was seven, as a shy little girl just wanting to express myself through football, so that's how I've kind of grown and developed and expressed myself. I've been a Liverpool fan my whole life, growing up watching my idols play. I had a season ticket, I remember watching the women team play at Widnes and my family are Reds. We are all excited and Reds through and through.

On getting a new squad number for the new season…

It feels really special. I'm kind of just excited to see where I can push to and I just want to keep developing. I think I thrive under the pressure. The pressure kind of shows what I'm about and it shows that you care and everything with that, so I'm excited.

On her expectations for the new season on a personal level…

I'm hoping to push on: push on with the team out there on the training pitch [and] see the heights where I can get to. I want to keep pushing, get myself into the team and build on that.

On the help she gets from experienced defenders Niamh Fahey, Gemma Bonner and Jasmine Matthews…

They are quality, they are experienced and they are great people. I know I can go to any one of them and get advice, chat to them. Like I said, when I was younger I watched them play, so now to be able to train and play with them... they are just great people.

On the hopes for the team ahead of the new season…

We are looking to build on last season. It was a great season and we know what this squad is capable of. The facilities here are amazing and we are grateful to be here day in, day out. The new stadium as well at St Helens, I've been there and it's great. It's amazing and we can't wait to see our fans in there. We just can't wait really to go and show what we can do this season.

On how tough it will be to progress from a fourth-placed finish in the WSL...

We are really proud of what we did last season. That top four was amazing, but we want to keep pushing [and] get better. There's no doubt the quality in the WSL is growing year on year but we know the squad we've got here and want to continue working and building, and we'll see where we can get to.

On the confidence in the camp to make it another season to remember…

There's been a lot of changes but year on year we've been building, developing and getting better, so with this new stadium and how we've been going in the WSL, it's really exciting.

On whether she sets herself any targets at the start of a season…

Yes, definitely. My goals, my aims and my standards, I like to keep them quite high. We also have them as a team so I just kind of want to put my standards and goals in to help the team and see where we can get to.

On what success would look like for the team this season…

The sky is the limit. Just pushing as far as we can go. It all starts here at Melwood day in, day out, the standards that we drive. We fight for each other and we want to just keep pushing and see where we can get to.
