Preview'We need to be up for the fight because Burnley certainly will be'
The Reds travel to Turf Moor on Sunday hoping to maintain their positive spell of form, which has seen Jürgen Klopp's men rack up five consecutive wins in all competitions.
But they'll come up against Sean Dyche's spirited side, who may sit bottom of the Premier League currently but battled to earn a draw with Manchester United in midweek.
Previewing the 2pm GMT kick-off in Lancashire, Robertson told Liverpoolfc.com: "Burnley's never an easy game – at home definitely, but away even more so.
"It's always difficult going to Turf Moor, especially when they're down the bottom end of the table.
"I know what it's like down there, I know when it gets to this point in the season, just picking up any points is so crucial in just trying to get yourself out of the situation.
"The Burnley players are a good group, very honest, very hard-working and they're a talented bunch. They won't be where they want to be in the table, of course, but they'll be looking to put it right. Sean Dyche is a really good Premier League manager, he's proven that over the years.
"It's going to be a really tough game. We need to be at our best, we need to do all the good things that we can do and we need to be up for the fight because they certainly will be.
"Hopefully our skill can look after itself and hopefully we can get a big three points."
The two teams last met at Anfield in August for the second fixture of the league season, with goals from Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane securing a 2-0 victory for the hosts.
Robertson is expecting another tough, physical challenge from the Clarets – one that will need to be met with intensity and quality.
He continued: "Every team's got a way of playing, a style of play. In every game it's important that you don't react to the other team's style of play.
"You have to focus on yours because that's what we practise, that's what we work on, that's what's brought us success before and hopefully will bring us success in the future.
"Burnley are a really difficult team, they've got willing runners, they're always there for second balls, really good in the air in both boxes, set-pieces are a problem.
"So you know what you're going to get but it's sometimes hard to stop and that's where we need to be up for it.
"We need to make sure we're the ones winning the second balls, we're the ones winning our tackles, we're the ones that are creating the chances, having corners and things like that.
"That's what we've all got to do and we've got to be 100 per cent at it. Because if you're not, it's been proven in this league before that if you're one or two per cent off it, you won't win the game or get the result that you want."
