FeatureWe Love You Liverpool: Meet Official LFC Supporters Club... Kenya
The Reds' fanbase is famous for its passion and loyalty, cheering on both Jürgen Klopp and Matt Beard's squads whether on Merseyside or watching from afar.
Our We Love You Liverpool feature aims to bring supporters closer together to learn more about each other wherever they are based around the globe.
Whether in the UK and Republic of Ireland, on Merseyside itself, in North or South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia or elsewhere, fans provide the very foundations that the club is built on.
Here, we meet Dillan Mandalia from OLSC Kenya…
Tell us about the OLSC...
The OLSC was formed through a general football WhatsApp group. As Liverpool fans we decided to branch out and create our own group. From there we expanded and now we have around 160 active members as an Official Supporters Club.
It must give you a sense of community and connection to Liverpool and the club itself?
It certainly does as we are all striving towards one goal, which is to see the club and its surroundings do well. It is very special when you get together to watch games and create lots of memories.
What is so special about supporting Liverpool for your members?
Most of us have been brought up supporting the club and it's the friendships and happiness that comes with it. We get together for every game and hold special events throughout the year. Our best memory together is without a question the 2019 Champions League final. It is a night all of us will never forget.
Has the OLSC ever visited Anfield?
Yes, OLSC Kenya has been invited to Anfield for several black-tie dinners for the end-of-season OLSC event and a few of our members have been over to experience it. Every member always travels back with nothing but positive reviews about it.
Lastly, if anyone else is interested in joining your OLSC, how would they go about doing so?
Firstly they would need to send an email to kopkenyareds@gmail.com. From there our club secretary will send them a form which they fill out before paying the annual subscription fee. Lastly, they are added to our WhatsApp group for further interaction with fellow Liverpool fans.
