VideoWatch now: Unseen footage of Liverpool's first European game and goal
By Chris Shaw
The first leg of a European Cup qualifier against KR Reykjavik on a Monday night in Iceland 60 years ago marked the Reds’ maiden foray onto the continent.
A 5-0 success for Bill Shankly’s reigning English champions was kick-started by Gordon Wallace, who converted Liverpool’s first European goal from close range after just three minutes.
And to mark the discovery of unseen shots from that tie on August 17, 1964, we recently sat down with Wallace to offer him a first look and hear his memories of the occasion.
Take a look in the free video above.
