ReactionWataru Endo on draw with Man City, Alexis Mac Allister and 'amazing' Anfield
The Reds produced a stirring second-half performance against the reigning Premier League champions, with Mac Allister's penalty cancelling out John Stones' early opener for Pep Guardiola's side.
The result keeps Jürgen Klopp's men in the thick of the title race, behind league leaders Arsenal on goal difference only, and a point ahead of City with 10 games remaining.
Afterwards, Endo, who was voted Carlsberg Player of the Match for his performance, reflected on a remarkable contest that ebbed and flowed throughout, played in front of a crowd of just under 60,000.
"The atmosphere was amazing," the Japan international told Liverpoolfc.com. "Of course I wanted to win for our fans, but the result was not too bad, I think.
"[In the] second half, we had more chances than Man City, in my opinion. So yeah, we are disappointed about the result but we need to move forward.
"We created more chances. Of course we could only score one, but the way we played, with how we created the chances, I think it was amazing. If we keep playing like we did, the results will come."
Endo went on to pay tribute to Mac Allister, who netted from the penalty spot for the second game running, and to the likes of Conor Bradley and Jarell Quansah, who were trusted by Klopp in one of the biggest games of the season.
"He's incredible," he said of Mac Allister. "We always try to help each other, especially when we have the ball. I have a very good feeling with him.
"And these younger players [produced] an amazing performance. Now [the] injured players are coming back, little by little, so I think that we are on a good way right now."
Endo continued: "At the end of the season, this one point might be important. That's what we want to say. So, we need to keep playing like [this] and just try to win every game."
