NewsVitezslav Jaros aiming to make Liverpool mark after trophy double in Austria
The Czech goalkeeper spent the second half of the last campaign in the Austrian Bundesliga on loan with Sturm Graz – a move that would prove hugely mutually beneficial.
Jaros made 21 appearances in all competitions as Graz completed a double of league championship – their first since 2010-11 – and Austrian cup.
Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com on the second day of the Reds’ pre-season tour of the USA, Jaros explained how he is aiming to build on his recent progress now back with his club.
“It’s my first week so [it has been] quite tough but I’m getting into it and catching up with the guys that have been back for two weeks,” the 23-year-old told Liverpoolfc.com.
“But it has been enjoyable – new surroundings, new staff and new people. I’m trying to impress and do the best I can.”

Reflecting on the amount of personal development he felt he achieved during his time in Austria, he continued: “It was brilliant, enjoyable – playing games and winning something as well.
“Winning two [trophies], which isn’t a thing for other clubs in Austria rather than RB Salzburg. It was really good.
“I think I’ve developed quite a lot. With games, you get match experience and game management and everything. It was brilliant for me.”
Liverpool landed in Pittsburgh on Tuesday afternoon to begin a visit to the USA that will last 12 days and include three friendly fixtures.
Arne Slot’s squad face Real Betis at Acrisure Stadium on Friday, before moving on to Philadelphia to meet Arsenal on July 31 and then finish the tour versus Manchester United in Columbia on August 3.
“It’s really hot – we’re not used to it in England, are we?!” added Jaros after their first training session on Wednesday morning. “Really tiring after the journey as well [on Tuesday], it’s all in the legs. Hopefully it gets easier.
“Hopefully [I’ll get some game time].”
