NewsA tribute to the boss: New Jürgen Klopp mural unveiled near Anfield

The vast artwork – which has been commissioned by BOSS Night and brought to life by artist Hugh Whitaker from MurWalls – has been completed on Randolph Street, a short walk from the Reds' home ground.

It features an image of Klopp's revered post-match fist pump celebration that often follows victories in L4, alongside a nod to the lyrics from his Beatles-inspired song that is regularly sung on the Kop on matchdays.

The mural was completed over four days in ode to Klopp's hugely successful spell in charge of the Reds.

Daniel Nicolson, on behalf of BOSS Night, told Liverpoolfc.com: "It's been fantastic to see the streets around the ground decorated over the past couple of years with murals, but we felt there was one person absent; Jürgen.

"Whilst there is a superb Klopp painting in the Baltic Triangle area, the man who has brought us so much joy over the past seven years was missing from L4.

"All of us at BOSS feel a connection on and off the pitch to Jürgen. He's been to our events, he speaks highly of Jamie Webster, we know he enjoys watching all the videos from gigs. And, of course, for the wider fanbase as a whole he is revered.

"So we wanted to show appreciation to him on behalf of all Reds around the world."

Whitaker added: "I'm very pleased with the outcome, not only is it a large mural but we decided to do it in colour.

"I've been here for four days and the support for it has been unbelievable. Chatting to the locals I know how much this means to them – the football club is a big part of the community.

"What Jürgen has done for them, it's a very proud moment for me to do this."

Marc Silver, founder and CEO of MurWalls, said: "Jürgen is the mastermind behind all the success in recent years and there's no mural of him by Anfield – it needed to happen.

"We wanted to do something really big, really colourful and put it here – that's what we've done. I would always like to say we have made everyone happy, but judging by the reaction so far we have done that.

"The one person we wanted to make happy is Jürgen Klopp himself, I guess we will find that out in good time. It's for everyone to celebrate him, and also for Jürgen it's a reminder of how much he has done.

"His smile is infectious and that smile is now going to be infectious for everyone who passes here."
