NewsTrent Alexander-Arnold wins Standard Chartered Men's Player of the Month
Operating from a new hybrid role that sees him frequently move into midfield when on the ball, the No.66 started six of the Reds’ seven fixtures, helping them win each of the last four in April in the Premier League.
Along the way, Alexander-Arnold provided six assists, setting up Roberto Firmino’s equaliser against Arsenal before creating two at Leeds United and one apiece in the victories over Nottingham Forest, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur.
In our Player of the Month poll on Liverpoolfc.com, he edged out Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah to claim the final edition of the prize for 2022-23.

“It’s an honour,” Alexander-Arnold told Liverpoolfc.com as he collected the award. “A good month. As a team, as an individual we’ve had a good month.
“We put together a lovely run of form, wins and good performances along the way. So, it’s an honour and something we’ve worked hard for.”
Liverpool have maintained their positive form into May, recording successive 1-0 home victories over Fulham and Brentford to stretch their winning streak to six games.
Asked what he feels has made the difference in recent weeks, Alexander-Arnold replied: “Consistency. I think we’ve had good results and then we’ve backed it up in the following game with another one and we’ve just kind of got consistency in that forward momentum again. I think that’s been the biggest difference for us.”
He added: “[We’re enjoying our football] a lot, I think you can tell that from the team, the way we’re playing. Most recently we’ve got clean sheets on the board and we’ve scored a lot of goals as well over the course of the month.
“It has been an exciting month, it has been one where in a not-so-good season this has probably been the best month we’ve had and it is showing signs of ending hopefully well.”
