The Reds travel to Emirates Stadium this weekend knowing victory would see them open up an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League.

Jürgen Klopp's side have already tasted success in north London this year having been 2-0 winners in last month's Emirates FA Cup third-round tie, and their confidence was boosted by a 4-1 triumph over Chelsea on Wednesday.

Looking ahead to the meeting with the Gunners, Alexander-Arnold expressed his excitement, as well as his belief that he and his teammates will be able to handle the pressure of the occasion.

"I always look forward to these games, no matter what," the vice-captain told Liverpoolfc.com. "Especially when you know there's so much riding on it.

"It's a must-not-lose, I would say. You have to go there and go get a result – hopefully take the three points.

"It's a tough place to go. When you have that kind of pressure on yourselves, it makes you deliver, it demands more from you. We're excited and we know that we need to go and get a result."

Alexander-Arnold continued: "We've shown that we're able to get a result there so far this season. It's going to be a different ball game, obviously, playing in a different competition. But we know we're capable of winning the game and we have that confidence.

"There's no complacency because we're on a good run. It's about making sure we go there and execute our game plan, and we're confident we're able to do that. Our mentality will be right and I'm sure the game plan will be.

"So if we go there and execute it and play the way we can, there's no reason why we can't walk away with three points."

Alexander-Arnold picked up a knee injury during Liverpool's cup tie at Arsenal in January, but has returned to action as a substitute in the wins over Norwich City and Chelsea in the last week.

In the 25-year-old's absence, the Reds have continued their impressive form, making progress in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup while maintaining their position at the top of the Premier League.

Youngster Conor Bradley, stepping in at right-back, has shone in particular – a sight Alexander-Arnold has been delighted to see.

"Outstanding!" he said when asked about the team's levels in recent weeks. "Great games. It's one of those where you hope that when you're out that the lads keep the form up and keep up the momentum that I was part of.

"That's all you can hope [for] and I think the lads, especially Conor as well, the performances he and the team have put in have been outstanding and kept that momentum up and kept our run going."

He added: "I think our intensity has definitely gone up. The way we're pressing and our counter-pressing and the intensity of our whole game and the speed at which we play is almost reminiscent of years ago when we were probably at the peak of our powers as a team.

"It's very similar. Different players, different style of football but the intensity is something that always remains and that's something that's drilled into us and demanded of us. It's what we enjoy doing and we see it work, so we buy into it."
