Fan infoTransport information for fans heading to Champions League final
By road:
Liverpool FC has been advised by Kent Police that there remains significant disruption on the Kent road network, including the M20 on the coastbound carriageway from Maidstone to Dover. Fans are advised to allow plenty of time to make their way to the Eurotunnel at Folkstone or Port of Dover to avoid missing their check-in time and crossing.
Supporters who are travelling by car are advised Paris is a Low Emission Zone – all vehicles are required by law to display an Air Quality Certificate (Crit’Air). Any vehicle that does not display a valid certificate may face a €135 fine. You must obtain your certificate before you travel – the certificate is easy to purchase and only takes a few minutes. Buy here.
Fans are also reminded that there is no car parking at Stade de France.
Coach travel and operators:
If you are travelling by coach, once in France, French border control will board each coach and check each passenger’s passport individually, so please be patient.
If you are a coach operator, you can book official coach parking for the game here. Once submitted and approved, you will be contacted by UEFA with further details.
By Eurotunnel:
Fans are advised to allow plenty of time to make their way to the Eurotunnel at Folkestone to avoid missing their check-in time and crossing due to disruption on the Kent road network. Please prepare for delays.
All passengers boarding the Eurotunnel will need a valid passport – a driving licence is not a valid document for travelling abroad. Please have all your documentation ready for inspection prior to boarding.
You will need your full driving licence documentation and proof of insurance, as well as the original Vehicle Registration Document (V5). You’ll also need a UK sticker for your vehicle. If the vehicle you are driving is borrowed, hired, leased, or a company car, it is vital that you carry a Vehicle on Hire Certificate (VE103). More information regarding motoring requirements when travelling in France is available here.
By ferry:
The Port of Dover is expected to be busy as travellers depart for their half-term getaways. Passengers should allow plenty of time for their journey and are advised to check with your chosen operator for updates. Passengers must confirm there is ticket availability and book tickets before travelling to the port.
Passengers are asked to arrive at the port only for their allotted sailing and have their documents ready to show at French border controls and check-in booths to ensure a swift transit, as this reduces the queuing time for other vehicles. This includes passports, COVID passes or COVID test results, if applicable. Passenger Champions will be situated on-site to provide assistance and information.
By Eurostar:
All passengers are advised to come to St Pancras International station at the recommended arrival time stated on their tickets. This also applies to anyone returning to the UK on Eurostar from Paris Gare du Nord. Both stations are expected to be busy during the summer half-term holiday.
Passengers should ensure they have all the necessary travel documents ready to show at the station before departure. This includes their Eurostar tickets, passports and any COVID-19 documents required to travel to France according to their vaccination status. Ticket availability is very limited over the weekend of May 28 and 29. Supporters are advised to come to the station only if they have a confirmed Eurostar booking.
Passengers may carry a maximum of four bottles/cans of beer (standard 440ml) or one bottle of wine (standard 750ml) per person. Anything above this allowance will be confiscated at the security checkpoint. Please note, large bottles of spirits are not allowed.
Passengers are advised to check Eurostar’s live departures page 24 hours or less before setting off for the latest traffic information.
By plane:
Remember to travel light if you’re headed straight to Stade de France from the airport – bags bigger than A4 size cannot be brought into the stadium.
Arriving in France:
Currently, quarantine is not required upon entry to France. Things can always change so make sure you keep an eye on the official government website.
Current COVID-19 requirements for passengers entering France:
- A COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that you were fully vaccinated at least 28 days before arrival or at most 270 days.
- Or a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test taken at most 48 hours before departure from the first embarkation point.
- Or a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken at most 72 hours before departure from the first embarkation point.
- Or a COVID-19 recovery certificate issued at least 11 days and at most 6 months before departure from the first embarkation point.
These requirements don’t apply to passengers younger than 12 years old or those under 18 years old who are travelling with a fully vaccinated adult.
Wearing a mask is no longer mandatory indoors in France, except on public transport, and you no longer need to present a Health Pass to access indoor facilities and activities.
Entering from the UK:
Most COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted when entering France from the UK, although a few regulations are still in place to ensure safe travel. All the details on specific entry requirements according to your vaccination status can be found on the UK government website.
You do not need a visa to enter France but prepare for queues at border control as your passport will need to be scanned when entering and exiting a Schengen area.
