For the second year running, Liverpool trio Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have each made it onto the nominees list, following their outstanding performances in 2024.

Alexander-Arnold will be looking to make it a hat-trick of Team of the Year inclusions, having previously made the final XIs in both the 2020 and 2021 editions.

Salah sits top of the Premier League’s goals and assists charts this season and recently became the first player to both score and assist in eight different games in the division in the same campaign.

Van Dijk can make it into the final Team of the Year XI for the third consecutive season, following his well-deserved inclusions in both the 2023 and 2024 teams. His dominant displays at the back have been vital to the Reds’ impressive form this season as they top both the Premier League and Champions League.
