InterviewTaylor Hinds previews Aston Villa: 'We're excited to be back at St Helens'

Liverpool FC Women host Natalia Arroyo's side in Barclays Women's Super League action this weekend following defeat at Arsenal last time out.

The loss at Emirates Stadium brought a run of three victories in a row under interim head coach Amber Whiteley to an end.

Vice-captain Hinds, however, is hopeful being back in familiar surroundings can help Liverpool get back to winning ways in the 2pm BST kick-off.

The full-back netted twice at Villa Park in November when the Reds prevailed over their counterparts 2-1 in the reverse meeting, with Hinds aiming for another strong performance this time around.

"I think we're all excited to be back at St Helens," she told Liverpoolfc.com ahead of the match. "It's been a while for us.

"It was a tough game at the weekend [against Arsenal] but we're ready to turn that around and ready to get three points at the weekend."

On Aston Villa fighting for points at this stage of the season...

They're going to fight for their lives really. We know it's going to be a tough game and obviously they're in unfortunate circumstances. But for us we're just going to focus on ourselves and hopefully get a good performance in and hopefully get the three points.

On the reverse fixture when she scored twice at Villa Park and the lessons learned...

I think being in the lead and trying to keep that and maintain that. Obviously they came back with a goal, which was a bit stressful towards the end, but I think we did try to keep that control and we came away with the three points. I was happy to contribute and hopefully we can have more of that this weekend.

On a positive past few weeks and the objectives under Whiteley...

I think just to get as many points as we can and put good performances in. It has been positive. It's been kind of a fresh start for everyone and we're all really positive. Despite the game at the weekend, there's a lot we can work on still and hopefully we can put a good performance in at the weekend.
