Taylor Hinds admitted her frustrations at Liverpool FC Women's 4-0 defeat by Manchester City on Sunday – but believes the Reds will remain together as a team.

Matt Beard's side crafted a number of chances in the Barclays Women's Super League encounter but were beaten at Joie Stadium.

A brace in the opening half from Khadija Shaw was added to by Jill Roord and Gracie Prior after the interval, handing the hosts victory ahead of the international break.

Speaking to Sky Sports post-match, vice-captain Hinds said: "I think there are a lot of frustrations really. I think City were clinical and I think if we were to put away some of our chances then the scoreline may have been different, but it's not and that's how it is. Like I say, they were more clinical than us."

On whether there was a 'lack of belief' in the team...

I wouldn't say a lack of belief. I think we go into every game believing in ourselves and that's a massive positive about this team, that we always believe in ourselves no matter who we play. I just think City were better than us and more clinical and that is the way they won in the end.

On whether there was any surprise at the number of chances created...

No, because I think we worked on that. I think that's how we play. We've tried to attack, and I think towards the end of the game sometimes it opens up a little bit. In the second half we've brought on some players as well and different options. I think we were always going to get chances, it's just we need to put them away.

On what was said in the post-match huddle...

Just that the international break has come at a good time obviously. It's just again staying as a team. We are a big family and there's a lot of positives from this game but also a lot of things we can work on. I'm sure we'll do that after the international break.
