PreviewTaylor Hinds: Everyone wants to win a derby - it's going to be a tough game

The Reds make the short trip to face the Blues in a final meeting at Goodison Park this weekend as the pair renew rivalries once again in the Barclays Women's Super League.

Ahead of the latest round of matches in the WSL, Liverpool sit sixth in the standings, while the Blues are winless at the foot of the table.

Hinds, though, has warned against focusing too much on the recent run of results for both sides, with the full-back expecting a tough contest.

"When it comes to derby day I feel like that's out the window," Hinds told LFCTV's Preview Show ahead of Sunday's 3pm GMT kick-off.

"Everyone wants to win a derby. It's going to be a tough game and hopefully we do come away with those three points, especially because we've been performing well. Hopefully that can help us."

On whether in derby games it is about the result and not performance, Hinds added: "I think sometimes it's got to be like that, especially in derbies. It can be a bit like that, a bit scrappy and a bit of a fight and aggressive.

"Sometimes you do have to get that control and try to play well, but again if you've got the three points then I'll happily take that as well."

Hinds struck twice in the recent 2-1 victory at Aston Villa, before Matt Beard's team were beaten 3-0 by Chelsea in St Helens last time out.

It has, however, been an exciting few weeks for Liverpool's No.12, with the goals at Villa Park coming shortly after making her international debut for Jamaica.

"It was a proud moment for me and my family," she said of the call-up.

"I think my grandad was really shocked at first. I don't think he knew... to make my debut against France; a top team, it was a tough game, but it's all about experiences and it was a great experience for me and hopefully I've got some more to come."
