Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and substitute Stefan Bajcetic were on the scoresheet for the Reds as they returned to Premier League action with a win.
Here are five talking points from the match...
Welcome back
"We try everything to get three points today and hopefully everybody can see that from the first second."
The loud Reds in the away end at Villa Park certainly saw Jürgen Klopp's pre-match wishes carried out to devastating effect.
Five minutes was all it took for a lead to be established with a brilliantly-worked goal, before Van Dijk added a second before half-time.
Ollie Watkins pulled one back for Villa but their fightback was extinguished when Bajcetic completed the night's scoring nine minutes from time.
It's now three straight wins for Liverpool in the Premier League, albeit there's a hefty World Cup break within that run. However, this is a result that brings encouragement as the league campaign gets going again with not even half of it played.
Congratulations, Robbo!
Andy Robertson now has the most assists of any defender in Premier League history.
The left-back took top spot in the list with a simple nudge across the face of goal that allowed Salah to tap in.
In what was his 231st top-flight appearance, Robertson registered assist No.54 to overtake Leighton Baines.
Meanwhile, in third sits Trent Alexander-Arnold on 45. Expect the Liverpool full-back pair to contest for first place in the coming seasons.
Salah moves level with Dalglish
The Egyptian King moved level with Liverpool's King when he opened the scoring here.
Salah netted his 172nd goal for the Reds to match Kenny Dalglish's tally and go joint-seventh on Liverpool's all-time top scorers list.
The finish also saw him edge closer to the top of the club's Premier League scorers chart; second-placed Salah is now just three behind Robbie Fowler's total of 128.
Oh what fun
Klopp and his Liverpool side simply love playing on December 26.
The Reds have now won their last six Premier League fixtures on Boxing Day by an aggregate score of 18-1, with the most recent five coming during Klopp's reign.
The boss continues to enjoy a 100 per cent win rate on this particular date (5/5).
Merry Christmas.
Unforgettable moments
How about the composure of 18-year-old Bajcetic when scoring his first goal at senior level?
The midfielder, introduced in the 79th minute, wrapped up the victory for the visitors just a few moments after coming on.
He displayed the coolness of an experienced striker when knocking the ball past goalkeeper Robin Olsen and placing it in the back of the net for 3-1.
And the satisfaction for the Reds' Academy set-up increased when 17-year-old Ben Doak came on to make his Premier League bow shortly before the end.
The future is bright.
