NewsSeason start, transfer window and more: Key dates for LFC Women in 2024-25
The next Barclays Women’s Super League campaign will follow this summer’s Olympic Games tournament, kicking off on the weekend of September 21/22.
As announced in May, Matt Beard’s Reds are set for a new home at St Helens Stadium from the start of 2024-25.
Featuring in the 12 teams this season will be Crystal Palace, who lifted the Barclays Women’s Championship last term and replace relegated Bristol City in the top flight.
The WSL season will include a winter break from December 16 to January 18, before finishing on the weekend of May 10/11.
A fixtures release date is still to be announced.
The WSL transfer window officially opens on Monday June 24 and will close on Friday September 13, a week before the campaign begins.
Free agents, however, can sign for a club outside of these dates.
The League Cup group stage, meanwhile, will be played from early October to mid-December, with the quarter-finals slated for January 22/23 and the semi-finals February 5/6.
The final is scheduled for the weekend of March 15/16.
Round dates for the Adobe Women’s FA Cup have yet to be confirmed, though top-flight clubs traditionally enter at the fourth-round stage in January.
