Watch'Salah the great, thriving Trent and commanding Konate'
In the latest edition of the Review Show, which is available to watch now on LFCTV GO, the former Red assessed Salah's all-round display against Thomas Frank's side.
Not only did the No.11 get the winner, it was his 100th goal at Anfield and took him into joint-fifth place on the club's all-time scorers list, alongside Steven Gerrard.
In addition, it was Salah's 30th of the season in all competitions and saw him become the first player in Liverpool history to net in nine consecutive home games.
Speaking on the Review Show, Mellor said: "We know the importance of momentum and there's a real feel-good factor around the football club.
"Salah is unbelievable and he's right up there amongst the legends. It's quite incredible but it's a time to enjoy watching a world-class player in Mo Salah and one of our all-time great attacking players.
"I thought he was absolutely outstanding against Brentford; not just his goal but his all-round game. He was a constant threat, looked sharp and created chances for his teammates."
Alexander-Arnold, meanwhile, enjoyed another stellar outing – and his inventive use of the ball troubled the Bees' backline on numerous occasions.
Mellor said: "Once again, Trent had the most touches out there and the most passes. He's a joy to watch.
"He had 76 touches and he was everywhere on that field. He is really enjoying and thriving in this new position."
Review Show: Liverpool 1-0 Brentford
Mellor also had words of praise for Konate, who produced a commanding performance alongside Virgil van Dijk to repel Brentford's pressure.
"It was a great battle with [Ivan] Toney, who has had a brilliant season with Brentford, getting 20 goals. He has really matured as a centre-forward and is a handful," he added.
"I thought Konate did really well, he won a lot of those battles, was nice and aggressive but fair."
