NewsRyan Gravenberch wins Liverpool's Men's Player of the Month for September

The Netherlands midfielder was chosen by supporters as the team’s star performer during a month in which Arne Slot’s men won five of their six fixtures in all competitions.

Gravenberch started five of those games and delivered a series of excellent performances in the centre of the pitch as the Reds reached the top of the Premier League while making winning starts in the Champions League and Carabao Cup.

In our Player of the Month poll, he finished ahead of Luis Diaz and Ibrahima Konate in second and third places respectively.

Upon collecting the prize at the AXA Training Centre on Thursday, the No.38 told Liverpoolfc.com: “If you win the Player of the Month it’s really nice. It’s also my first one, so I’m a little bit proud as well.

“Obviously we have a really good team, really good players. Luis [Diaz] had four goals in September, so I think it’s hard to choose between me and him, but I want to thank the fans that they chose me.”

On his best performance, he added: “I think I had good actions against Bournemouth, but I will go for the game against Milan. I think that game was a really good team performance, but also individually it was really good.”

Why you voted for Gravenberch…

Marcus: Ryan has been absolutely outstanding in his new role – well done.

Steve Whitby: Has not had a bad game. Very consistent in defence and linking up and starting attacks.

Irene Lumb: Playing in a different role but playing with confidence and was a key player throughout the month.

Vlatko: He picks himself with that form, doesn’t he?

Chris McNeal: In every game this month, he has quietly been a brilliant player in our midfield, contributing something to all levels of the field.

Colette Jones: He has bossed midfield, he has been exceptional for the team.

Nathalie: Absolute baller, every time I see the guy on the field I am delighted. Adds amazing energy to the team. Makes me a proud Dutch person.
