NewsRyan Gravenberch: We have to pick ourselves up for Tottenham

The Reds came from a goal down at West Ham United on Saturday to lead 2-1 at the London Stadium, but ultimately dropped two Premier League points as Michail Antonio headed in an equaliser.

Jürgen Klopp’s side are back in action this Sunday afternoon as Spurs visit Anfield, and Gravenberch called for the squad to pick themselves up in pursuit of a victory.

“We wanted to win and we didn’t do it, so we’re disappointed,” the Dutchman, who played the full match in the capital, said after the 2-2 draw with the Hammers.

“Now the league will be really difficult and also we are out of Europe. We have to finish the league well now.”

He continued: “Everybody is disappointed. But we have to go [forward] now. Tottenham is this week and we have to prepare for that – and we will do.

“We have to prepare well for them and we have to believe and we have to win that game.”

Results across the weekend have left Liverpool trailing league leaders Arsenal by five points with three games remaining each, and they are four behind Manchester City, who have four fixtures left.

“It was a really hard [week],” said Gravenberch. “Of course as a player you want to win prizes and now it will be really difficult.

“You have to keep dreaming and keep believing always, but it will be really hard for us. Everyone is disappointed because we wanted to win [at West Ham].”
