InterviewRyan Gravenberch reaction: Chelsea win, the 'unbelievable' Curtis Jones and staying focused
The Reds maintained their position at the top of the Premier League thanks to Curtis Jones' second-half winner at Anfield on Sunday.
Arne Slot's side responded almost immediately after Nicolas Jackson equalised Mohamed Salah's first-half opener, with Jones producing the decisive strike in minute 51.
Assessing the game, Gravenberch told Liverpoolfc.com: "I'm very happy with the win. It was not an easy game – we knew it before.
"I think at the end we fought a lot and we deserved to win.
"We stick always together and we just keep playing, keep playing and we know that the second chance is coming, and we finished it."
On Liverpool's start to the season, he added: "It's really early, we have a lot of games. But we are in a good position and we have to keep going. It's really early."
Jones' match-winning contribution, on just his second league start in 2024-25, came as no surprise to his teammates.
"He's a really good player," Gravenberch stated. "I see he has the same qualities what I have – he's really good on the ball, he's really good in driving with the ball, you see the depth in his game. He was unbelievable.
"I know the qualities from Curtis and I know what I can expect from [him]. What I said, he did really well. I know when he has the ball where I have to be and vice versa. He's a really good player."
Gravenberch was another who impressed in the centre of the pitch against Enzo Maresca's Blues.
It was a performance entirely in keeping with his eye-catching form to begin the campaign.
The No.38 said: "I said it before, I'm just enjoying playing this season as a six. I'm just enjoying it and trying to be as consistent as I can. It's going good but we have to keep going."
