PreviewThe run-in: Will Mohamed Salah win a fourth Premier League Golden Boot?
Liverpool's Mohamed Salah is the current frontrunner to win the 2024-25 Premier League Golden Boot.
The Egyptian is on course to claim the prize, which is awarded to the competition's top goalscorer in a single campaign, for the fourth time.
Thierry Henry is the only player in Premier League history to have won four Golden Boots.
Salah leads this season's chart with his 27 goals from 29 appearances, all of which have been starts.
His main competition in the remaining nine fixtures ahead appears to be 2022-23 and 2023-24 winner Erling Haaland, who has netted 21 times in the league for Manchester City so far this term.
Newcastle United's Alexander Isak currently sits third on 19, with Chris Wood of Nottingham Forest a place below on 18.
Also in Salah's reach before the end of the term is climbing the Premier League's all-time top scorers list.
The 32-year-old is level with Sergio Aguero in fifth spot on 184 goals and he will have fourth-placed Andrew Cole's tally of 187 firmly in his sights.
Salah won his first Golden Boot in his debut season at Anfield back in 2017-18 after bagging 32 times – which remains his highest top-flight total.
With 22 strikes, he shared the prize the following May with teammate Sadio Mane and Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
His most recent win came in 2021-22 when he earned it along with Son Heung-min of Tottenham Hotspur for scoring 23 goals.
Should Salah win this time, it will see Liverpool improve its status as the Premier League's most successful club when it comes to the Golden Boot.
The award has been won by a Red seven times in total (Luis Suarez in 2013-14 and Michael Owen in 1997-98 and 1998-99 are the others).
